My best friend and i went to eat Friday evening. Service and the food was amazing! We were running 30 minutes behind and called to let them know and had no problems extending it. The service was amazing. Jack being one of our waiters was so kind happily taking pics per our request ! Our primary waiter (can't recall her name) was also so kind helping us through the menu. Food tasted so healthy and fulfilling with bursts of fresh flavors. Hard to find entrance door. It is behind the hotel and you must take the elevator. Beautiful, colorful vibes. Thank you!
Ambiance was great. Expensive Service was pleasant. Great view. I didn't eat, I only drank.
We walked in for lunch. We sat outside on their beautiful patio. Service was a bit slow, they seemed under staffed. Their lunch menu is very limited. I tried the burger, which they were able to serve in a lettuce wrap and make it gluten free. It was delicious. It comes with caramelized onions and a delicious sauce 10/10. There's also a side of ketchup but I did not touch it, it was perfect as is. It does not come with any sides, so I was still hungry at the end. I would definitely go back to try their dinner menu.
Mother Tongue completely exceeded our expectations! We decided to sit on the terrace, which is absolutely stunning. Based on the Google and Yelp reviews, we weren't sure how the food would be, but let me tell you--it was beyond delicious. Every dish was perfectly crafted, and the flavors were incredible. We were pleasantly surprised by how kind and attentive the staff was, which made the entire experience even better. Now, let's talk about the prices. We were absolutely shocked--in a good way! For a restaurant of this caliber, with such excellent food and service, we were expecting to pay much more. We were a group of five, and we ate to our hearts' content, and the total bill was just $200. In LA, that is an absolute steal for the quality and experience we had. And don't even get me started on the desserts--they were only $9 each! We left feeling super satisfied and couldn't believe the value for money. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience in Los Angeles, Mother Tongue is a must-visit. Beautiful terrace, amazing food, great service, and unbeatable prices--what more could you ask for? We're already planning our next visit!
Highlights: grilled oyster mushrooms, yellowtail crudo, corn agnolotti, steak frites Wow, the moment you walk in, the beautifully colored interior will leave you in awe. This rooftop spot has an ambiance that women will absolutely love. The food leans towards an Asian fusion style with an impressive selection of vegetarian options that were both unique and delicious. Some dishes were a bit on the salty side for my taste, so if you prefer milder flavors, it might be good to mention that when you order. The service was also excellent, making the whole experience very satisfying.
This restaurant is a little challenge to find. We had to walk around the corner from the gym that displays its address. Once you're behind the gym, you ride the elevator to the restaurant. It is quite pretty and has a relaxing atmosphere. Service - was very good. Food - we came here for an early dinner (6 pm). Unfortunately, I had a late lunch and was still quite full when my hubby and I met friends here. Thus, I just had a very small bite of each order. I don't quite remember what was ordered but remembered that they tasted good. Next time, I'll come hungry.
Mother tongue was definitely an interesting experience. The entrance was hard to find. The elevator up to the restaurant is in the alleyway to the right, behind the gym. [Food 4/5]: I enjoyed the food and found it really unique. [Selection of all 3 spreads & flatbread 2/5]: I really liked the beet hummus and walnut muhammara. However, I didn't feel like it really stood out to me. And that we could've gone without it. [Shiitake mushroom larb 4/5]: I really liked this dish. It had a good balance of flavor and crisp from the lettuce and chip. The only con is that it is difficult to eat and can get messy. [Roasted Colorado lamb 4/5]: I really liked this dish the most and it is a standout. The lamb came in this tied white thin paper. I thought the presentation was interesting and when the waiter drops the dish off he unraveled the dish in from of us. I liked the condiments that came with this dish and found it really flavorful. [Ambiance 4/5]: The interior design of the restaurant is super cute and the bar area also gave classy vintage vibes. I like how the restaurant wasn't too dark. And the booths are super cute. It def is a cute date spot. I don't usually eat this type of food, because it is a bit adventurous for me. However, I would recommend others to at least try it once.
I forgot the server's name from this Saturday but I just wanted to give him a shoutout! He really took care of us. Long story short, our reservation was pushed to a later time due to a wedding reception and we were promised free bottle and appetizers. Our server was able to comp 2 bottles of rose, 2 appetizers, and 2 desserts. We were super grateful! The restaurant is on the 4th floor of the Heimat building; entrance is through the alleyway. When you see a big H, make sure to turn in and you will see an elevator that goes to Mother Tongue. Interior is so gorgeous and spacious--a perfect place to celebrate with friends! All the staff were attentive and they made sure our water cups are always full. Food--so good!! The lumpia is delicious; im definitely coming back for that. We also ordered the 3 spreads and mushroom larb to share, and they were just as good. My friends and I each ordered either the striped bass or the duck breast. They were tasty--lots of flavor and great presentation. Parking--we all found street parking and we came on a Sat night. A 10/10 place in my books
Mother Tongue was a cute, cozy spot. Come for the 4-6 social hour and stay for dinner. Good for sharing and big groups. The risoni was the best thing there and had the healthiest portions.
